    Boil sugar and water together for 5 minutes with cardamom powder to make a syrup, then set aside warm.

    Mix milk powder, flour and ghee, then bring together with milk into a soft, crack-free dough.

    Shape into smooth small balls, taking care there are no cracks on the surface.

    Deep fry on low heat, turning gently, until evenly golden brown all over.

  5. 5

    Drop the warm fried balls into the warm syrup and soak for at least 30 minutes before serving.
