Crush the ginger and cardamom lightly to release their flavour.

Bring water to a boil with the crushed ginger and cardamom.

Add tea leaves and simmer for 2 minutes until the water darkens.

Add milk and sugar, and simmer until it comes to a rolling boil.

Strain into cups and serve hot.
